Sing for the moment

Sing for the moment

These ideas are nightmares to white parents Whose worst fear is a child with dyed hair and who likes earrings Like whatever they say has no bearing, it's so scary in a house that allows no swearing To see him walking around with his headphones blaring Alone in his own zone, cold and he don't care He's a problem child And what bothers him all comes out, when he talks about His *' dad walkin' out Cause he just hates him so bad that he blocks him out If he ever saw him again he'd probably knock him out His thoughts are whacked, he's mad so he's talkin' back Talkin' black, brainwashed from rock and rap He sags his pants, do-rags and a stocking cap His step-father hit him, so he socked him back, and broke his nose His house is a broken home, there's no control, he just let's his emotions go... {C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years {Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon) Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away... Entertainment is changin', intertwinin' with gangsta's In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum Holy or unholy, only have one homie Only this gun, lonely cause don't anyone know me Yet everybody just feels like they can relate, I guess words are a * they can be great Or they can degrate, or even worse they can teach hate It's like these kids hang on every single statement we make Like they worship us, plus all the stores ship us platinum Now how the * did this metamorphosis happen From standin' on corners and porches just rappin' To havin' a fortune, no more kissin' as* But then these critics crucify you, journalists try to burn you Fans turn on you, attorneys all want a turn at you To get they hands on every dime you have, they want you to lose your mind every time you mad So they can try to make you out to look like a loose cannon Any dispute won't hesitate to produce handguns That's why these prosecutors wanna convict me, strictly just to get me off of these streets quickly But all they kids be listenin' to me religiously, so i'm signin' cd's while police fingerprint me They're for the judge's daughter but his grudge is against me If i'm such a *' menace, this shit doesn't make sense B It's all political, if my music is literal, and i'm a criminal how the * can I raise a little girl I couldn't, I wouldn't be fit to, you're full of shit too, Guerrera, that was a fist that hit you... They say music can alter moods and talk to you Well can it load a gun up for you , and cock it too Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude Just tell the judge it was my fault and i'll get sued See what these kids do is hear about us totin' pistols And they want to get one cause they think the shit's cool Not knowin' we really just protectin' ourselves, we entertainers Of course the shit's affectin' our sales, you ignoramus But music is reflection of self, we just explain it, and then we get our checks in the mail How we can come from practically nothing to being able to have any *' thing that we wanted That's why we sing for these kids, who don't have a thing Except for a dream, and a *' rap magazine Who post pin-up pictures on their walls all day long Idolize they favorite rappers and know all their songs Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in their lives Till they sit and they cry at night wishin' they'd die Till they throw on a rap record and they sit, and they vibe We're nothin' to you but we're the *' shit in they eyes That's why we seize the moment try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and hold it Cause we consider these minutes golden And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone Just let our spirits live on, through our lyrics that you hear in our songs and we can...   [CHORUS X2]

EMINEM Biography( part 2 )

A protégé of Dr. Dre, rapper Eminem emerged in 1999 as one of the most controversial rappers to ever grace the genre. Using his biting wit and incredible skills to vent on everything from his unhappy childhood to his contempt for the mainstream media, his success became the biggest crossover success the genre had seen since Dre's solo debut seven years earlier. The controversy over his lyrics was the best publicity any musician could afford, and being the first Caucasian rapper to make a significant impact in years may have given him a platform not afforded to equally talented African-American rappers. A gifted producer as well, his talents always seemed overshadowed by his media presence, which was a mix between misunderstood genius and misogynistic homophobe. Both may be true, but his message spoke to legions of disaffected youth who had few role models in the rap world who could relate to the white lower-class experience.
He was born Marshall Mathers in
St. Joseph, MO (near Kansas City), spending the better part of his impoverished childhood shuttling back and forth between his hometown and the city of Detroit. Initially attracted to rap as a teen, Eminem began performing at age 14, performing raps in the basement of his high school friend's home. The two went under the names Manix and M&M (soon changed to Eminem), which Mathers took from his own initials. Due to the unavoidable racial boundaries that came with being a white rapper, he decided the easiest way to win over underground hip-hop audiences was to become a battle rapper and improv against other MCs in clubs. Although he wasn't immediately accepted, through time he became such a popular attraction that people would challenge him just to make a name for themselves.

His uncle's suicide prompted a brief exodus from the world of rap, but he returned and found himself courted by several other rappers to start groups. He first joined the New Jacks, and then moved on to Soul Intent, who released Eminem's first recorded single in 1995. A rapper named Proof performed the B-side on the single and enjoyed working with Eminem so much that he asked him to start yet another group. Drafting in a few other friends, the group became known as D-12, a six-member crew that supported one another as solo artists more than they collaborated. The birth of Eminem's first child put his career on hold again as he started working in order to care for his family. This also instilled a bitterness that started to creep into his lyrics as he began to drag personal experiences into the open and make them the topic of his raps.

A debut record, 1996's Infinite, broke his artistic rut but received few good reviews, as comparisons to Nas and AZ came unfavorably. Undaunted, he downplayed many of the positive messages he had been including in his raps and created Slim Shady, an alter ego that was not afraid to say whatever he felt. Tapping into his innermost feelings, he had a bounty of material to work with when his mother was accused of mentally and physically abusing his younger brother the same year. The next year his girlfriend left him and barred him from visiting their child, so he was forced to move back in with his mother, an experience that fueled his hatred toward her and made him even more sympathetic toward his brother. The material he was writing was uncharacteristically dark as he began to abuse drugs and alcohol at a more frequent rate. An unsuccessful suicide attempt was the last straw, as he realized his musical ambitions were the only way to escape his unhappy life. He released the brutal Slim Shady EP, a mean-spirited, funny, and thought-provoking record that was light years ahead of the material he had been writing beforehand. Making quite the impression in the underground not only for his exaggerated, nasal-voiced rapping style but also for his skin color, many quarters dubbed him the music's next "great white hope."

According to legend, Dr. Dre discovered his demo tape on the floor of Interscope label chief Jimmy Iovine's garage, but the reality was that Eminem took second place in the freestyle category at 1997's Rap Olympics MC Battle in Los Angeles and Iovine approached the rapper for a tape afterward. It wasn't until a month or two later that he played the tape for an enthusiastic Dre, who eagerly contacted Eminem. Upon meeting, Dre was taken back by his skin color more than his skill, but within the first hour they had already started recording "My Name Is." Dre agreed to produce his first album and the two released "Just Don't Give a Fuck" as a single to preview the new album. A reconciliation with his girlfriend led to the two getting married in the fall of 1998, and Interscope signed the rapper and prepared to give him a massive push on Dre's advice. An appearance on Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause only helped the buzz that was slowly surrounding him.

The best-selling Slim Shady LP followed in early 1999, scoring a massive hit with the single and video "My Name Is," plus a popular follow-up in "Guilty Conscience"; over the next year, the album went triple platinum. With such wide exposure, controversy ensued over the album's content, with some harshly criticizing its cartoon-ish, graphic violence; others praised its edginess and surreal humor, as well as Eminem's own undeniable lyrical skills and Dre's inventive production. In between albums, Eminem appeared on Dre's Dr. Dre 2001, with his contributions providing some of the record's liveliest moments.

The Marshall Mathers LP appeared in the summer of 2000, moving close to two-million copies in its first week of release on its way to becoming the fastest-selling rap album of all time. Unfortunately, this success also bred more controversy, and no other musician was better suited for it than Eminem. Among the incidents that occurred included a scuffle with the Insane Clown Posse's employees in a car stereo shop, a bitter battle with pop star Christina Aguilera over a lyric about her fictional sexual exploits, a lawsuit from his mother over defamation of character, and an attack on a Detroit club goer after Eminem allegedly witnessed the man kissing his wife. Fans ate it up as his album stood strong at the top of the charts. But the mainstream media was not so enamored, as accusations of homophobia and sexism sprung from the inflammatory lyrics in the songs "Kill You" and "Kim." It was this last song that ended his marriage, as the song's chosen topic (violently murdering his real life wife Kim Mathers) drove his spouse to a suicide attempt before they divorced. Eminem toured throughout most of this, settling several of his court cases and engaging a mini-feud with rapper Everlast.

The annual Grammy Awards nominated the album for several awards, and to silence his critics the rapper called on Elton John to duet with him at the ceremony. In 2001, he teamed with several of his old Detroit running buddies and re-formed D-12. Releasing an album with the group, Eminem hit the road with them that summer and tried to ignore the efforts of his mother, who released an album in retaliation to his comments. After getting off of the road, he stepped in front of the camera and filmed 8 Mile, a film loosely based on his life directed by the unlikely fan Curtis Hanson (Wonder Boys). His constant media exposure died out as well, leaving him time to work on new music.

When he re-emerged in 2002, he splashed onto the scene with "Without Me," a single that attacked Moby and Limp Bizkit and celebrated his return to music. Surprisingly, the following album, The Eminem Show, inspired little controversy. Instead, the popular second single "Cleanin' Out My Closet" told of his dysfunctional childhood and explained his hatred toward his mother in a mannered, poignant fashion. And being Eminem, he followed this up with an appearance at MTV's Video Music Awards that inspired boos when he verbally assaulted Moby for no apparent reason

                                             Biography(DiDo

Electronic pop chanteuse Dido entered London's Guildhall School of Music at age six, and by the time she reached her teens had already mastered piano, violin and recorder. After touring with a British classical ensemble, she accepted a publishing job, in the meanwhile singing in a series of local groups before joining the trip-hop outfit Faithless — helmed by her older brother, the noted DJ and producer Rollo — in 1995. As the group's 1996 debut Reverence went on to sell some five million copies worldwide, Dido began working on solo material, developing a lushly ethereal sound combining elements of acoustic pop and electronica; signing with Arista, she released her debut LP No Angel in mid-1999, and toured with the Lilith Fair that summer. Her biggest break, however, came the following year, when rap superstar Eminem sampled the No Angel track "Thank You" for the chorus of his hit single "Stan," to surprisingly touching effect. Demand for the Dido original escalated quickly, and "Thank You" became a Top Five smash in early 2001, as did the album, which topped sales of 12 million copes worldwide by the time Dido returned to the spotlight two years later. In September 2003, Dido released her long-awaited follow up entitled Life For Rent. This sophomore effort was layered with personal hardship and heartbreak, marking some of Dido's more honest material yet.

DIDO LYRICS (Life For Rent)

                                             "White Flag"

I know you think that I shouldn't still love you,
Or tell you that.
But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it
where's the sense in that?

I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I know I left too much mess and
destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of "it's over"
then I'm sure that that makes sense

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

And when we meet
Which I'm sure we will
All that was there
Will be there still
I'll let it pass
And hold my tongue
And you will think
That I've moved on....

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

EMINEM LYRICS(straight from the lab)

                                         "Bully"

[Intro]
Yo, check it out, it's fucked up, and I don't see either one of us budging

[Verse]
I'm withholding my anger
Though I'd like to be the strangler
Of this punk ass little* puny neck
It's my right to insist
That he acknowledge my existence
But he just displays complete lack of respect
That's what he says to himself
As he uses magazines to trash me
As he sits with both feet up at his desk
Smokes a bag of his weed
And starts imagining things
And he just can't see that he's manically depressed
And in his jealousy and envy
It just whirls him in a frenzy
As he turns on MTV and sees my face
He don't exist in this world
So he just twists and he twirls
Spirals and spins till he runs himself in a rage
And it's destroying him slowly
Cuz he does not even know me
Even though he sees me everywhere he goes
So he just tortures himself
He has no fortune and wealth
So he extorts someone else to get his dough
And now he's acting like a bully
So he tries to push and pull me
But he knows that he can't pull me so he's mad
He has no choice but to scream
And raise his voice up at me
Cuz it annoys him to see that I ain't scared

[Chorus]
You aint no * (bully)
And I aint bowing to no * (bully)
I won't allow it, aint no coward to no (bully)
I'll be damned if I don't stand up to a (bully)
Fight like a man and throw my hands up to a (bully...)

And I know it must be fucking with you emotionall(y...)

[Verse]
Now I'm not trying to make no more enemies
No more unfortunately
There's so many * that just are
They just keep pounding at me
Now that I'm down with 50
Suddenly now I got beef with this faggot Ja' [laughter]
But his ass is such a puppet
Irv could shove his whole hand up it
And just make him say what he wants him to say
But Suge has Irv's on a string
And Irv's so nervous that he
Says anything to this man to keep him at bay
So now Ja thinks that he's so tough
And Murder Inc.'s the big bad wolf
And they go huff and puff and blow our label down
But our building's made out of bricks
So you ain't taking out shit
I know you just did a song with Bobby Brown
So now you try to pull a race card
And it backfires in your face hard
Cuz you know we don't play that black and white shit
Plus this guy that you fucked
When you was ecstasied up
Was just a man who's dressed up as a white bitch

[Chorus]
You must be taking to much (E...)

[Verse]
Now what bothers me the most
About hip-hop is we so close
To picking up where we left off with Big and Pac
We just lost Jam Master J
Big L got blasted away
Plus we lost Bugs, Slayed Son, and Freaky Ta
It's like a never-ending cycle
That just seems to come full circle
Everybody's gotta be so fucking hard
I'm not excluding myself
Cuz I been stupid as well
I been known to lose it when someone says something smart
But as we grow as men
We learn to let shit go, but then again
There's only so much bullshit we can really stand
We all got reps to uphold
When someone steps on our toes
It's no exception, it goes for every man
But if Irv really gave a fuck
About Ja like he claims he does
He'd wake him up and make his boy get off them drugs
But he just keeps feeding him pills
So if that E doesn't kill him
Someone from G-Unit will and I ain't buzzed
Dawg, I'm talking to you straight
If the situation escalates
Any worse, we're gonna lose another soldier to this game
And if I get killed for this rap
I got a million in cash
That says I will get you back in Halie's name

[Chorus]
Irvine, get your boy off that (E...)

[Spoken]
Get at me, dawg
Holla

EMINEM LYRICS(straight from the lab)

                                                  "I Love You More"

[
Intro]
You still love me?
Take this. [2 guns cock]
You ready? 1.. 2.. 3! [2 shots]

[Chorus]
The more you, put me through,
The more it makes me wanna come back to you,
You say you hate me, I just love you more,
You don't want me, I just want you more,
I buy you flowers, you throw 'em at me,
I know it's sad but it's makin me happy,
The more that you slap me, the more that it turns me on,
Cuz you love me, and
I love you more.

[Verse 1]
It's sick, but who could ever predict,
We'd be doin' the same shit,
We say we do it for our baby but we don't,
We do it for us, it's lust,
Cuz neither one of us trusts each other,
So we * 'til we bust,
Then we cuss each other, out,
We know what it's about,
Shout 'til I throw you out the house,
You throw me out the house,
I throw you on the couch,
Punch you in the mouth,
Fist fight 'til we turn this mother OUT,
And apologize after,
Laughter, pain, it's insane,
We're back in the same chapter again,
And it's sad but it's true,
When I'm layin' here with you,
There ain't nothin' anyone could ever say ever do.

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
Cuz I hate you, do you hate me?
Good cuz you're so *in' beautiful when you're angry,
It makes me wanna just take you,
And just throw you on the bed,
And fuck you like I don't even know you,
You fuck other people, and I * other people,
You a slut but I'm equal, I'm a mutt,
We're both evil in our ways,
But neither one of us would ever admit it,
Cuz one of us would have one up on the other,
So forget it,
We can make accusations, people spread rumors,
But they ain't got proof,
'Til they do it's just the two of us,
It's you and me, cuz any chick can say that she's screwin' me,
But you gotta believe me to a degree,
Cuz if you didn't I wouldn't be hittin' it,
Yeah I would cuz the sex is too damn good,
If I ran who would I run to,
That would be this soft and warm,
So it's off and on, usually more off than on,
But at least we know that we share this common bond,
You're the only one I can *************,
I hope, the only reason that I cope,
Is cuz of that fact,
And plus I can bust in that,
And that's why...

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
I could never understand it,
That's why I don't try,
From junior high until we both die,
It's silly ho why must we try,
Is it really so rough,
That we must always call each other's billy goat's gruff,
Try to pull each other's legs,
Until the other begs,
We're liein' to ourselves,
That's the beauty of it yeah,
Cuz we truly love each other,
That's why we always fight,
And all we do is shove each other,
Every other * night,
And it's clear it ain't gonna change,
It's pent up rage,
We both have,
We both feel like we've been upstaged by someone else,
We've both been,
Someone else's someone else,
Problem is neither one wants help,
It's an addiction and it can't be fixed,
Our family's mixed up,
There's a baby sister in the mix,
And it hurts cuz the pieces to the puzzle don't fit,
And anybody who thinks they know us doesn't know shit,
And they're probably just tired of hearin' it all the time,
On every song, every lyric, and every rhyme,
All the hoopla, all of the whoopdy whoop,
What you put me through, f* whoopdy doo,
But I won't be made a fool of,
If this is true love,
You wouldn't do what,
You did last time,
You wouldn't screw up,
This time,
Cuz this time girl,
I'm tellin you what,
You do it again I'm * you up,
No matter what...

[Bridge]
What you say, what you do,
I'ma hunt you down 'til I find you,
No matter where you run, I'll be right there,
Right behind you, in your nightmares,
All the flowers, and the candy,
All the times that you threw it back at me,
You say you hate me, you gon' hate me more,
When you find out, can't escape me whore.

[Chorus]

The sing for the momentتوضيح مي دهد که چگونه تمام اين عوامل موثر واقع مي شوند .وي در اين ترانه چيزي را که کابوس هر پدر و مادري ميتواند باشد به تصوير کشانده است:walking with his bead phones blaring alone in his own zone cold and he don`t care he`s a problem child what bothers him all comes out when be talks about his fucking dad walking out cause he hates him so bad that be blocks him out but if he ever saw him again he`d probaly khock him out his thoughts are whacked he`s mad so he`s talking back, talking black brainwashed from rock and rap.

Just don`t give a fuck Mr.a.k comin straight outta comtong all better maks way Mr.n.w.a
Now,beacause of this bload mop that's on top and this fucked up bead that I've gone pop

جاي انکار نيست که ويژگي نژادي امينم در محبوبيت زياد او نقش عمده اي داشته است و اگر به فرض سياه پوستاني چون جي زد يا بتزينو در مجله اش The source به ترور شخصيت وي دست زد و جارول خطاب به وي خواند:             you'll never khow black pain but you could become the first while raper slain

Just keep singing that same song recycled we'd all much rather get along than fight you me and hailie dance to your songs we like you

Biography
The man otherwise known as Eminem was christened Marshall Bruce Mathers III, and was born
October 17, 1972, in Kansas City, MO.

While raised by his mother, traveling from one trailer park to another was the only tune Eminem was singing. His single mother would move her son from Kansas City to Warren, Michigan, only to finally settle down in the East Side of Detroit when Eminem was 12.

rapping, rhyming & freestyling

Thanks to a childhood tainted by constant moving around and a broken family, Eminem was a surprisingly quiet child, and delved mostly into comics and TV. While a student at Lincoln Junior High School and Osbourne High School, Eminem's interests moved onto '80s rap such as 2 Live Crew, LL Cool J and NWA, and he began to open up more in the form of rapping and rhyming.

But as a white rapper singing predominantly "black" music, Eminem got into many fights while in school. Despite his rhyming talents, Eminem didn't spend much of his time actually studying, and after mastering the art of skipping school, the teenage delinquent dropped out altogether.

He spent his time working several minimum-wage jobs, while concentrating on rapping. After contributing his rapping skills to groups such as Basement Productions and Sole Intent, and establishing a reputation for himself as the only white rapper taking to the Detroit "talent night" microphones, the master rhymer released a solo independent album, Infinite, in 1996.

from infinite loser to slim shady

Eminem did not see the success he's enjoying now; in fact, he received no more than negative comments and criticism. Not discouraged to keep trying, despite hurtful negativity, Eminem continued to appear in shows and on radio stations in Detroit, and eventually was mentioned in the Source's "Unsigned Hype" column and won the 1997 Wake Up Show Freestyle Performer of the year award.

He participated in the Coalition's 1997 "Rap Olympics" in LA, where he ranked second place, after he gave someone from the Rap Coalition a copy of his debut, Infinite. After former NWA member Dr. Dre heard Eminem's skills on an LA radio station, he was convinced that he wanted to work with the freestyler.

Dre signed Eminem to his Aftermath Entertainment label, and together they worked on releasing The Slim Shady LP, which included more songs than the independently, previously released The Slim Shady EP. Released in 1998, The Slim Shady EP (named after Eminem's evil alter-ego -- no kidding) made the rapper a star on the rap scene, and led to his appearance on MC Shabaam Sahdeeq's "Five Star General".

In 1999, The Slim Shady LP was released, containing songs such as "My Name Is..." and his collaboration with Dre, "Guilty Conscience". The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Album charts, and has since gone three times platinum, which is nothing compared to the success he would see with his next release.

Chock-full of award recognition, what with an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, and 2 Grammys (one for Rap Solo Performance for "My Name Is...", another for Best Rap Album), Eminem went back to the studio.

hand full of m&m

When Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP was released in 2000, Eminem quickly became the star of the year. The album sold 2 million copies in its first week of release, and it stayed put as number one on the charts for a firm 8 weeks. Spawning huge hits such as "The Real Slim Shady" (which triggered an ongoing war with bubble gum pop princesses Biritny spearse and Chiristina Aguilara"The Way I Am" and "Stan" (which catapulted the career of trip-hop artist Dido), Eminem's self-titled LP deserved all the recognition it received, despite the controversy.

The multi-platinum selling artist received the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance for "The Real Slim Shady", Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for "Forgot About Dre" (he collaborated on Dre's single), and the Best Rap Album of the Year Award, in 2001. He also didn't fail to plug his proteges, the group D-12, whose members came up with him as he accepted an award. Eminem was also a winner at the 2001 Brit Awards, where he nabbed the award for Best International Male Artist.

Despite the controversy surrounding Eminem's vulgar and suggestive lyrics, not to mention negative press such as being sued by his mother, his wife (and mother of his daughter Hailie Jade) filing for divorce, being charged with gun possession, as well as his wife's suicide attempt, and pretty much being despised by everyone in the free world, it's hard to ignore Eminem's sheer talent as a lyricist, and musician.

EMINEM LYRICS

"Sing For The Moment"

[Verse 1]
These ideas are nightmares to white parents
Whose worst fear is a child with dyed hair and who likes earrings
Like whatever they say has no bearing, it's so scary in a house that allows
no swearing
To see him walking around with his headphones blaring
Alone in his own zone, cold and he don't care
He's a problem child
And what bothers him all comes out, when he talks about
His fuckin' dad walkin' out
Cause he just hates him so bad that he blocks him out
If he ever saw him again he'd probably knock him out
His thoughts are whacked, he's mad so he's talkin' back
Talkin' black, brainwashed from rock and rap
He sags his pants, do-rags and a stocking cap
His step-father hit him, so he socked him back, and broke his nose
His house is a broken home, there's no control, he just let's his emotions
go...

[Chorus]
{C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years
{Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon)
Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you
away...

[Verse 2]
Entertainment is changin', intertwinin' with gangsta's
In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum
Holy or unholy, only have one homie
Only this gun, lonely cause don't anyone know me
Yet everybody just feels like they can relate, I guess words are a
mothafucka they can be great
Or they can degrate, or even worse they can teach hate
It's like these kids hang on every single statement we make
Like they worship us, plus all the stores ship us platinum
Now how the fuck did this metamorphosis happen
From standin' on corners and porches just rappin'
To havin' a fortune, no more kissin' ass
But then these critics crucify you, journalists try to burn you
Fans turn on you, attorneys all want a turn at you
To get they hands on every dime you have, they want you to lose your mind
every time you mad
So they can try to make you out to look like a loose cannon
Any dispute won't hesitate to produce handguns
That's why these prosecutors wanna convict me, strictly just to get me off
of these streets quickly
But all they kids be listenin' to me religiously, so i'm signin' cd's while
police fingerprint me
They're for the judge's daughter but his grudge is against me
If i'm such a fuckin' menace, this shit doesn't make sense B
It's all political, if my music is literal, and i'm a criminal how the fuck
can I raise a little girl
I couldn't, I wouldn't be fit to, you're full of shit too, Guerrera, that
was a fist that hit you...

[CHORUS]

[Verse 3]
They say music can alter moods and talk to you
Well can it load a gun up for you , and cock it too
Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude
Just tell the judge it was my fault and i'll get sued
See what these kids do is hear about us totin' pistols
And they want to get one cause they think the shit's cool
Not knowin' we really just protectin' ourselves, we entertainers
Of course the shit's affectin' our sales, you ignoramus
But music is reflection of self, we just explain it, and then we get our
checks in the mail
It's fucked up ain't it
How we can come from practically nothing to being able to have any fuckin'
thing that we wanted
That's why we sing for these kids, who don't have a thing
Except for a dream, and a fuckin' rap magazine
Who post pin-up pictures on their walls all day long
Idolize they favorite rappers and know all their songs
Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in their lives
Till they sit and they cry at night wishin' they'd die
Till they throw on a rap record and they sit, and they vibe
We're nothin' to you but we're the fuckin' shit in they eyes
That's why we seize the moment try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and
hold it
Cause we consider these minutes golden
And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone
Just let our spirits live on, through our lyrics that you hear in our
songs and we can...

[CHORUS X2]

EMINEM LYRICS

"White America"

America, hahaha, we love you, how many people are proud to be citizens of this beautiful

country of our's, the stripes and the stars for the rights that men have died for to protect,

the women and men who have broke their neck's for the freedom of speech the United States

government has sworn to uphold, or so we're told...

Yo', I want everybody to listen to the words of this song, I never would've dreamed in a

million years i'd see, so many motherfuckin' people who feel like me, who share the same views

and the same exact beliefs, it's like a fuckin' army marchin' in back of me, so many lives I

touch, so much anger aimed, in no particular direction, just sprays and sprays, and straight

through your radio waves it plays and plays, 'till it stays stuck in your head for days and

days, who would of thought, standing in this mirror bleachin' my hair, with some peroxide,

reachin for a t-shirt to wear, that I would catapult to the forefront of rap like this, how

could I predict my words would have an impact like this, I must've struck a chord, with somebody

up in the office, cause congress keeps telling me I ain't causin' nuthin' but problems, and now

they're sayin' i'm in trouble with the government, i'm lovin' it, I shoveled shit all my life,

and now I'm dumping it on...

[CHORUS]

White America, I could be one of your kids, white America, little Eric looks just like this,

white America, Erica loves my shit, I go to TRL, look how many hugs I get, white America, I

could be one of your kids, white America, little Eric looks just like this, white America, Erica

loves my shit, I go to TRL, look how many hugs I get...

Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself, if they were brown, Shady lose, Shady

sits on the shelf, but Shady's cute, Shady knew, Shady's dimple's would help, make ladies swoon

baby, {ooh baby}, look at my sales, let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half, I

ain't have to graduate from Lincoln high school to know that, but I could rap, so fuck school,

i'm too cool to go back, gimme the mic, show me where the fuckin' studio's at, when I was

underground, no one gave a fuck I was white, no labels wanted to sign me, almost gave up, I was

like, fuck it, until I met Dre, the only one to look past, gave me a chance, and I lit a fire up

under his ass, helped him get back to the top, every fan black that I got, was probably his in

exchange for every white fan that he's got, like damn, we just swapped, sittin' back lookin' at

shit, wow, i'm like my skin is it starting to work to my benefit now, it's...

[CHORUS]

See the problem is, I speak to suburban kids, who otherwise would of never knew these words

exist, whose mom's probably would of never gave two squirts of piss, 'till I created so much

motherfuckin' turbulence, straight out the tube, right into your living room I came, and kids

flipped when they knew I was produced by Dre, that's all it took, and they were instantly hooked

right in, and they connected with me too because I looked like them, that's why they put my

lyric's up under this microscope, searchin' with a fine tooth comb, its like this rope, waitin'

to choke, tightening around my throat, watching me while I write this, like I don't like this,

nope, all I hear is, lyrics, lyrics, constant controversy, sponsors working 'round the clock, to

try to stop my concerts early, surely hip-hop was never a problem in Harlem, only in Boston,

after it bothered the fathers of daughters starting to blossom, so now i'm catchin' the flack

from these activists when they raggin', actin' like i'm the first rapper to smack a bitch, or

say faggot, shit, just look at me like i'm your closest pal, the posterchild, the motherfuckin'

spokesman now for...

[CHORUS]

So to the parents of America, I am the derringer aimed at little Erica, to attack her

character, the ringleader of this circus of worthless pawns, sent to lead the march right up to

the steps of congress, and piss on the lawns of the White House, to burn the casket and replace

it with a parental advisory sticker, to spit liquor in the faces of in this democracy of

hypocrisy, fuck you Ms. Cheney, fuck you Tipper Gore, fuck you with the freest of speech this

divided states of embarassment will allow me to have, fuck you, [vocal melody],

he, hahaha, i'm just playin' America, you know I love you...
